Bio of Albert Luther Clarkson
Albert Luther Clarkson was born on the 9th of August 1901 in Fort Smith Arkansas. He was the son of Samuel Edwin
Clarkson and Aubin Mildred Fry. Not long after his birth his family moved to Oklahoma City where his father
established Oklahoma Hardware Company. He lived out his childhood in Oklahoma City, attending the public schools.
After graduation from Central High School in Oklahoma City, he attended the University of Pennsylvania and the
University of Michigan. After his schooling he returned to Oklahoma City and went to work in the family business,
Oklahoma Hardware Company.
On the 30th of April 1927, he was married to Miss Blanch Rowland at the First Presbyterian Church of Oklahoma City.
They were the parents of two children, Rowland Albert Clarkson born in 1928, and Blanche Aubin Clarkson born in 1932.
In the 1940's Al Clarkson resigned from his position at Oklahoma Hardware and became a manufacturer's representative
for several hardware lines. In 1953, after twenty-five years of marriage, Blanch Rowland Clarkson died of cancer.
She was forty-seven years of age.
Al Clarkson lived a quiet, bachelor life for many years following his wife's death. About 1970 he was married to
Eugenia Clark. She had been previously married to Harold Smith and had two grown children.
Albert Luther Clarkson died on the 27th of April 1981. His obituary appeared in the Daily Oklahoman (Oklahoma City)
the following day:
