Research Notes of Lora Redman Lockhart:
Layton Thomas Redman was born 7 Feb 1920 and married first Maurine Boston and married second Geraldine Thomas. Layton Thomas Redman started to school at Sunnyside, and attended grade school at Weatherby, Spring Grove, Pleasant Valley and graduated from the eighth grade at Mt Gilead. He graduated from the Maysville High School in the class of 1938 after his father's death in 1937. He farmed with his mother until 1940 when he went to Pontiac Michigan and worked at various jobs. He returned to Kansas City 1940 and worked at Lake City from 1941-1943. He was employed at Armco Steel for six years and returned to Lake City where he was foreman of Building 10. In 1954 he developed his own business, Superior Metal Treating, Inc, and retired in 1968 at a farm near Polo where he is engaged in cattle raising.
