  • Notes
    • 1880 Census of Bon Homme county, Dakota Territory; township 94
John Ferdrick; 30 (1850) Bohemia; farmer
      Josie Ferdrick; 26 (1854) Bohemia
      Bozena Ferdrick; 6 (1874) Dakota
      Maria Ferdrick; 5 (1875) Dakota
      Hattie Ferdrick; 2 (1878) Dakota
note - John Fridrich is the brother of Frances Fridrich; Rosalie Svejkovsky, widow, is living nearby.

There is a John Fridrich as a witness to the marriage of Frank Svejkovsky and Bozana Fridrich in Tyndall, SD 1888. This would likely be Bozana's uncle John Fridrich, the brother of her mother.

Researcher Diane Moore maintains an interesting memorial to John Fridrich and his wife Josephine Dvoracek at the Find A Grave website. It includes photos and an excellent biography taken from "History of South Dakota Territory, Its History and Its People" by George W. Kingsbury, 1915. It gives wonderful flavor to life in South Dakota for the Czech immigrants. You will enjoy reading it! Link for John Fridrich at Find A Grave.
