Notes |
- Frances Fridrich was first married to Joseph Wasatko about 1863 in Bohemia. They came to the United States about 1869, and had five children before their divorce in 1875. At that time Frances Fridrich Wasatko dropped the Wasatko from her name and changed the names of all her children to Fridrich. Later Frances Fridrich was married to Mr Peseck and had another son August Peseck. She was also divorced from Mr Peseck, and she changed her youngest son's name to August Fridrich.
Frances Frederick registered a Homestead claim in TS 94, Bon Homme co, South Dakota Apr 1877 and claim was established in April 1882.

Researcher Diane Moore maintains an interesting memorial to John Fridrich and his wife Josephine Dvoracek (brother and sister-in-law to Frances Fridrich) at the Find A Grave website. It includes photos and an excellent biography taken from "History of South Dakota Territory, Its History and Its People" by George W. Kingsbury, 1915. It gives wonderful flavor to life in South Dakota for the Czech immigrants. You will enjoy reading it! Link for John Fridrich at Find A Grave.
