1920: Wapanucka School Closed Successful Year Last Night

Wapanucka, Oklahoma, May 22 (special) – The Wapanucka high school closed the most successful year in its history last night. The graduating exercises were held in the school auditorium, twelve young people receiving diplomas. The following were the graduates: Bertha Tummins, Edith Tanner, Eula Stewart, Irene White, Euda Brown, Bertha Holmes, Ona Carter, Elizabeth McKnight, Lydia Smith, Vinnie Ream, Emory Walton and Agnes Runt. Most of the class will attend the summer term of the Normal at Ada.

The following program was rendered last night:

Salutatory Address – Ona Carter, Lydia Smith
Class Prophecy – Vinnie Ream
Address – Hon Luther Harrison, Ada Oklahoma
Song – “Pond Lillies” – Senior Class
Awarding of diplomas – C W Howell, director
Valedictory address – Bertha Tummins
