Obituary of John R Swanda


Swanda rites will be today at Tecumseh

Services for John Junior Swanda, 88, Rt 1, Macomb, will be at 10 am today in Cooper Funeral Chapel. RL Colley, minister of the Tecumseh Church of Christ, will officiate. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Oklahoma City. Mr Swanda died at 11:15 pm Tuesday at his home after an illness of two months. He was born July 18, 1873 in Czechoslovakia. He moved with his parents to the Dakotas in 1878 and moved to Oklahoma in 1889 settling at Yukon. He lived in Bristow and Oklahoma City before moving to Tribbey a year ago. He was a sheet metal worker. Survivors are his wife, Mrs Lillian Swanda, of the home; four daughters, Matilda Randich Seattle, Washington; Irene Koelsch, Locust Grove Oklahoma; Margaret Koelsch, Oklahoma City; and Helen Koelsch, Little Rock Arkansas; four step-daughters, Mrs Elma Dean, Oklahoma City; Mrs Carmen Keener, Oklahoma City; Mrs Art Brundage, Rt 1 Macomb; and Mrs Vera Terrio, Rt 1, Macomb; two sons, Topel Swanda, Oklahoma City and Adolph Swanda, Kansas City Missouri; 16 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs Tonia Hubacher (Habutka) Oklahoma City, and a brother Pete Swanda, Oklahoma City. Bearers will be Art Brundage, Aaron Brundage, Richard Fisher, Otto Dean, Steven Fisher and Jack McElroy.
