      note - George Zimmerman's individual records at familysearch suggests that he immigrated from the the area of Wissembourg in Alsace France. The town of Wissembourg is about four miles from Kapsweyer. also identified with the Zimmerman family. Kapsweyer and Wissembourg are in the Alsace (German) region of France, about eighty-five miles south of Frankfurt Germany - then across the Rhine River and about ten miles to the west.

      Zimmerman - August 21, 1903, in this city, Barbara, wife of George Zimmerman, aged 66 years. The funeral will take place from the family residence, No 76 Chester Street, Sunday afternoon at 3 o clock. Friends are invited to attend. Burial at the convenience of the family.

      George Zimmerman Has Passed Away - George Zimmerman, who had lived in the Cold Springs district for the past sixty-six years, died at his home at No 76 Chester Street yesterday. He was born in Weisenberg, in Alsace eighty-seven years ago. During his early years he was a sailor on the lakes. He later joined the Frontier Police Force and was afterwards connected with several enterprises. He retired from active business about twelve years ago. He is survived by the following children: Michael, Charles, Henry, John, William and Martin Zimmerman and Mrs William Kessler, Mrs JB Lloyd and Mrs UL Ulrich. The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon and the interment will be at Forest Lawn.
