Joseph Benjamin Hancock was born 28 Jan 1875 and died 12 Feb 1961. He married Estella Peaslee and they were the parents of Homer Hancock, Margaret Hancock, and Otto Hancock. Ben Hancock was a carpenter and contractor and built many shoe factories and the swine building on the Missouri Fair Grounds. Ben died at the home of his daughter, Margaret Walker, in Sedelia Missouri. Ben and Estella Hancock are buried in Crown Hill Cemetery in Sedalia, Missouri. Ben Hancock got his skill in his father's carpenter shop and training with his father as instructor. He made a 3 cornered cherry cup board for his sister Kate and an oak cabinet for his sister Julia. At the age of 19 he built a six room house. After his marriage to Estella Peaslee on 24 Jan 1897 they lived in various cities on construction of factories, and public buildings. The family established their home in Sedalia Missouri. Their children are all deceased.
