1954: Cotton for Style

On Sunday May 9th, 1954, the Women's Section of the Daily Oklahoman featured a full page of spring fashions. Lovely models included, Blanche Aubin Hutchison, Germaine Millspaugh Clarkson, and Maxey Cooper Reynolds.

(left) Deep pink roses almost cover the white background of the informal cotton dance frock selected by Mrs Robert Hutchison jr, 537 NW 49. Cut-out roses shimmering with rhinestones are appliqued to the shoulder straps and the curved bodice top banded in green. The bodice is fitted; the skirt is full.

(center) On a neighborhood shopping trip Mrs Rowland A Clarkson, 2035 NE 28, wears black and white checked cotton. Bands of narrow pink rickrack on wider white rickrack give a gored effect.

(right) Leaving for luncheon at the club, Mrs Norman Reynolds jr, 924 NW 18, wears white figured navy lawn. Double bias folds form . . neck trim; large sparkling rhinestone buttons.
